The fees that do not show on the price card
- Setup and porting. WestFax charges $20 per number to port in. eFax charges $40 per number to port out. Fax Pigeon: free both ways, no setup fee.
- Users and numbers. eFax adds $10 a month per user and $5 per number; SRFax $4.95 per extra number; WestFax $4.95 per extra number on Team. Every Fax Pigeon plan includes unlimited people on one number, from $4.99, with no per-seat and no per-number fees.
- Overage mechanics. eFax charges a $10 prepay wallet on the first overage page and bills every send attempt whether or not it completes. Fax Pigeon bills overage on the next invoice at the plan's own rate, 10¢ a page on Basic (200 pages), 5¢ on Standard (500), 4¢ on Plus (1,000), 3.5¢ on Pro (2,000), 3¢ on Premium (5,000) and 2¢ on Max (10,000), and restores your pages when a line or carrier problem stops delivery.
- Retention. WestFax keeps faxes about 60 days; eFax purges at 6 or 12 months and makes them inaccessible at closure; Sfax lists one year. Fax Pigeon keeps them for the life of your account.
About the free line
Doximity's free fax line is limited to licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and pharmacists, and it is a personal line for that clinician, not a practice number: Doximity's documentation says staff cannot open accounts, and the line is reclaimed after six weeks unused.
