Does Tebra have fax?

Yes, Tebra has fax: a practice gets one kFax number that files incoming faxes into Documents as PDFs, and Tebra's pricing page lists Inbound Digital Fax on 4 of its 5 plans. Sending runs in the web platform, needs a Clinical with Billing subscription with kFax enabled, and caps a fax at 10 MB. Fax Pigeon sends and receives on one number from $4.99 a month billed annually.

Can a Tebra practice send a fax?

Yes, from the web platform. The desktop application cannot send: Tebra's kFax page says the feature "does not support faxing documents from the Desktop Application (PM)." Every outgoing fax means opening the web platform.

Sending requires a Clinical with Billing subscription, and the practice must have kFax enabled. The fax leaves from the practice's kFax number, and all the documents in one fax together cannot exceed 10 MB. Once kFax is on, the Fax Documents article says to log out and back in, and the send options can take up to 10 minutes to show.

A document's more-options menu offers Send Via Fax, which opens a New Fax panel, and Send eFax sends it. The Fax History tab, which lists each fax with a Delivery Status, appears only when kFax is enabled. Tebra's December 2025 release notes announce all of this as Outbound Faxing, a phased rollout due to finish at the end of January 2026.

How does a Tebra practice receive faxes?

A system administrator assigns each practice one kFax number, and a fax sent to it is filed in Documents as a PDF. The desktop application and the web platform can both open the file. Tebra's June 2025 release notes record that newly received kFax faxes became PDFs that open in a browser, and its July 2025 notes list a fix for an issue that kept some customers from receiving documents through kFax.

Tebra's pricing page lists Inbound Digital Fax and never says kFax. A check mark sits beside it on All in One, EHR+, EHR Starter and Billing Starter, and an x on Patient Experience + Marketing. The page lists no outbound fax. Neither pricing page uses the name Clinical with Billing, the subscription the Fax Documents article requires for sending.

Does Tebra's BAA cover fax?

Tebra's BAA page, last updated March 17, 2025, names neither fax nor kFax. The agreement applies to the software and services a customer has purchased, and Tebra's FAQ says every customer agreement includes a BAA. The four fax help articles (kFax Number, Fax Documents, Fax History and Send Referral by eFax) mention neither HIPAA nor a BAA.

Under 45 CFR 164.502(e)(2), a covered entity must document a business associate's satisfactory assurances through a written contract or other written agreement or arrangement. Do you need a BAA with your online fax service? covers when a fax service needs one. Whether Tebra's agreement reaches kFax is a question its BAA page leaves unanswered. Every Fax Pigeon plan includes a signed BAA, executed at signup.

Does Tebra send referrals by fax?

Yes. A referral starts from a signed clinical note and goes out with Send eFax, the same label the Documents panel uses. The practice's first eFax starts with entering its fax number in eFax Settings. Tebra files the referral under the patient's documents and on the Referrals page, and Direct Message and a printed download are the other two ways to send it.

The referral article names no subscription and no kFax, and it does not say whether the number it asks for is the kFax number. None of the four fax articles names a fax company.

What does fax cost with Tebra?

Tebra prints no price for kFax or for sending: not in its fax articles, its two pricing pages, its FAQ or its pricing policy, updated effective July 1, 2026. Inbound Digital Fax is a plan feature, and plans are priced per provider.

Tebra's pricing overview runs from $49 to $799 per provider per month. The $49 start belongs to Patient Experience + Marketing, the only one of the five plans on the pricing page that lists no Inbound Digital Fax. EHR Starter and Billing Starter, which list it, start at $99 for non-physician providers and $199 for physicians, for practices that submit fewer than 100 claims a month. The overview treats therapists as a separate provider type and lists no single-solution price for them.

Fax Pigeon's Basic plan is $4.99 a month billed annually, or $5.99 month to month, for 200 pages sent and received, and unlimited people come at no extra cost. Faxes keep arriving past that allowance, and extra pages cost 10 cents each on Basic.
